Dan Brown is a world famous American author of thriller fiction. He is best known for his 2003 bestselling novel, The Da Vinci Code and the 2000 bestselling novel, Angels & Demons. Brown specializes in cryptography, keys and codes, which are common themes in all his novels. Though his books are often criticized as anti-Christian, Brown confesses that he is a Christian and comments that his novels are nothing other than entertaining stories. It was his reading of Sidney Sheldon’s The Doomsday Conspiracy which convinced him that he could write better and immediately started work on Digital Fortress. Though his first books were not very successful, The Da Vinci Code sold over 60.5 million copies and brought nearly $250 million.
